a situation in which people lie in wait to make a surprise attack.
Beware of the traps of life. Traps can be concealed in many forms: a person, a job, a lifestyle, an environment, and a religion. As stated in the definition, traps can come in two forms. The first form entangles and trips your progress to keep you immobile. The second, waits until your guard is down to try and destroy you.
I recently encountered the first form of a trap within a job that I felt I needed. The physical and mental energy it took to deal with the bullshit that came with the job was meant to break spirit. I can't say the business's name but the amount of time wasted had me feeling like Milo in the Doldrums. The constant promise of money that never came is what kept me trapped in this cycle.
I decided to take a jump.
No parachute, no backup plan, I needed to get out.
So I Got Out.
As soon as I released myself from the trap, I started to receive more opportunities (and more money). Those first form traps are constructed for you to be docile, to not act, or to dig yourself into a whole you can't climb out of. They are constructed to break your spirit slowly over time until you give up.
The second form traps are constructed to break your spirit also but in one swift blow. These traps are more dangerous. These are the dream killers. These second form traps are rare but be wary they can break you in an instance.
The Truth is that I can't describe to you how to detect these traps, I can only inform you on their existence. It is up to you to detect your own traps in your own life.
